Erik’s Journey to Owning an Auto Repair Shop, in His Own Words
I started in the automotive industry back in 1985, working for my dad at a local Billings tire shop, which was part of a tire shop chain. From tire technician, I quickly moved up the ranks and started training to service cars and trucks. By my third year, I was working in the general auto repair side of the shop. Around my tenth year working for the company, I had become an ASE Master certified technician and had expanded the type of work we did in the shop to include brakes and frontend repair, as well as engine replacement and drivability problems, and pretty much everything in between.
After a few more years, I became the service manager and consistently made our shop’s auto service department one of the most successful in the chain. I continued working there until I put in 20 years of loyal service, and that’s when I decided to open my own auto repair shop to further help the Billings community with great auto service and quality work.
